In the interest of full disclosure, this person wrote the below comment from an IP address belonging to Ameriprise Financial. I wonder what Ameriprise Financial's policy is on hate speech?

- Colin

Wow.. you guys are gay. Complaining about a free lunch because someone wants to explain what a REAL PLANNER does, and how they help clients...and see if there's any interest...

Do you complain about the cookies they give you when you donate blood too?

Joel, it probably depends on the rep. My guy gave up after I blew him off a couple of times.

I'm doing the Ameriprise lunch next week. Is their pitch very high pressure, or do they really leave you alone if you're not interested?

This is too funny. It is like a bunch of twelve year old kids trying to cover their tracks. I can't believe that any adult professional would think that this is a good idea. Thanks Colin for making my day!

Ameriprise 'financial advisors' make a habit of doing this. Here's another example:

http://www.amexsux.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?num=1141459652/0#0

And, these guys have been caught messing around with wikipedia...deleting what they don't like and adding glowing accounts of themselves.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Ameriprise_Financial

Too bad they don't spend their time learning how to provide proper financial advice.

Wow, Emily and Romeo - do you live in the same house? You guys have the same IP address: 71.232.13.172

Granted, it's a Comcast and in MA, not an Ameriprise IP this time... but you guys are really not that clever. In fact, there is no comment that you can post that makes it seem like Ameriprise isn't behind it.

Yeah, no kidding. Advisors/planners actually help people. Would you want them to cold call you day after day instead? If you don't want their services, it doesn't bother them. They make enough money as it is, and they do the lunches since its fun for them. But don't be an asshole/ignorant about it. My roomate from college is an Ameriprise advisor and she's helped me a lot.

Dude, are you ignorant enough to realize what a financial planner is? And do you really have nothing else to do during the day than to talk about your lunch?? Get a life.
